What should you do until you see us?

After you’ve called us to inform us of your situation, consider taking an over-the-counter pain medication to control any pain or discomfort. For a broken or chipped tooth, rinse your mouth with water and apply a cold compress to the outside of your cheek to reduce swelling. If you can find the tooth fragment, bring it to our office. For a knocked-out adult tooth, gently clean it (if needed) with only cool water before gently placing it back in its socket. Hold it there with a clean washcloth or gauze. If you can’t put it back in place, put it in a container of cold milk until you see us.
